On April 26th, 2019 the opening ceremony for the Lightweight Aggregate Technology Innovation Center of China Concrete and Cement-based Sector (LATC) was officially launched in Tianjin. LATC was initiated by China Concrete and Cement-based Products Association (CCPA), and will be co-built by CCPA and Tianjin Cement Industry Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd (TCI).
The opening ceremony
Xu Yongmo, CCPA Executive President and He Xiaolong, Executive Director and General Manager of TCI unveiled the LATC plaque together.
Zeng and Hui signed the cooperation contract
Zeng Qingdong, CCPA Secretary General and Sui Mingjie, the Chief Engineer of TCI signed the cooperation contract together.
With the rapid development of China economy and urbanization, massive solid wastes are produced not only occupying great soil, but also making huge impact on natural environment. The LATC will focus on lightweight aggregate production using industrial solid wastes with three-folded functions, which are reducing large number of solid waste in a harmless way, decreasing the influence of solid wastes over environment, and utilizing manufactured lightweight aggregates in the municipal infrastructures. The LATC will integrate various forces of cement facility design, scientific research on cement and lightweight aggregate, technology innovation in environment-protection, to eventually create a most advanced lightweight aggregate production line, and to set the standards for the lightweight aggregate sector. By improving the general production technology and reducing its environment impact, the lightweight aggregate sector will turn itself into a green, low energy consumption and smart sector. On the other hand, the environment-protection course in China will be developed prosperously in sustainable way with the increasing capacity of solid wastes utilization by lightweight aggregate sector.
