The opening ceremony of  China Concrete and Cement-based Products Industry Convention 2018 hosted by China Concrete and Cement-based Products Association (CCPA) was held in Changshan, Hunan Province on December 1st, 2018. The main theme of the convention is “follow the trend, plot the move and force the way”. More than 1200 representatives attended the convention including entrepreneurs, experts, researchers, managers, material suppliers and service providers from related sectors, institutions and enterprises.

The Convention has been an annual carnival for people in the industry to get together and seek for communication, cooperation and opportunities for innovation. Since its inception, it has gradually grown into a platform for CCPA to provide high-quality services to enterprises in the industry. CCPA is striving to lead enterprises and the whole industry to develop in the sustainable and high-quality way.

Distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony including Chen Daofu, the associate director of Finance Department of Development Research Center of State Council; Chen Xiangsheng, the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering; Huang Baolin, the deputy director of Industry and Information Technology Department of Hebei Province; and Guan Peng, the director of Development Strategy Department of International Cooperation Center of National Development and Reform Commission. CCPA higher officials attending the opening ceremony were President Wu Wengui, Executive President Xu Yongmo, Deputy President Yao Yan, Ji Youhong, Sun Jiancheng, Tian Yubo, Qiu Fenglei, Wang Guohua, Li Wei, Mei Xiangfu, Ding Yuehua, Yang Hanbing, Shao Jun, Yao Yuanjun, Cui Qi, Han Xianfu, and Xu Luoyi. Presidents and general secretary from local associations, experts in related sectors, and representatives from leading enterprises also attended the opening ceremony.

On behalf of CCPA, President Wu Wengui gave a welcome speech. He said in the year of 2018, fellows in the industry could feel various pressures, such as real-estate industry going down, escalating competition between peers, intensifying environment protection requirements and soaring raw material prices. Therefore, people in the industry came to the convention and got together to study the challenges and seek for development opportunities. We should study the national strategy and policies, strive for any opportunities to promote the structure optimization of the industry and improve the development quality. He emphasized that with the joint endeavors and effective communication and brainstorms the industry would verify the general trend and clarify the direction the enterprises should go so that the industry would continue to make great achievements by seizing the development opportunities.

Based on statistical data of annual production, CCPA published the top ten enterprises for ready-mixed concrete industry, precast concrete pile industry and prestressed concrete pile industry. Fifty-two projects were rewarded with CCPA Technology Innovation Award, in which 40 projects were classified as Research and Development Award, 9 projects were classified as Technology Reform Awards, and 3 projects were classified as New Technique Awards. According to “the guideline to the Technology Innovation Platform of Concrete and Cement-based Products Industry”, CCPA designated 4 enterprises as Industry Innovation Platforms. Nine enterprises were rewarded with AAA-class Credential Certification. During the opening ceremony, award-winners also received their awards for the Fourth China Decorative Concrete Competition.

In the opening ceremony, 6 people received their title of Excellent Researchers. Wu Jie from the Shanghai Construction Material Co., Ltd was rewarded as Excellent Engineer. Wang Gang, the president of Jianhua Construction Material Co., Ltd was rewarded as CCPA Excellent Entrepreneur 2018.

It was officially announced that CCPA and Chinese Ceramic Society would jointly organize “China Concrete Forum” and develop it into the most advanced and influential scientific forum in Chinese and global concrete industry. The China Concrete Forum will be carried out according to the non-profit, professional and authoritative principles. The Forum will be open for free to graduate students in concrete research area to promote the technology innovation and research.
