On June 28^th, 2018 the Fifth Jinggangshan Forum with essential themes of “new time, new technology, new development” was successfully held in Jiangxi Province. The Forum focused on co-processing of the building wastes and industrial solid wastes and the sustainable concrete technology. The Forum invited 18 professionals to discuss about the new technology, products and applications and share experience in the development of sustainable concrete industry. The guests showed great interest and discussed on the topics of solid waste utilization passionately. The ready-mixed concrete enterprises in China is changing their opinion, and turning to a green industry with combined functions of reducing and co-processing building wastes and industrial solid wastes.

Mr. Jiang Shangwen, the Party Committee Secretary and CEO of Jiangxi Province Building Material Group and Chairman of Jiangxi Province Building Material Industry Federation, gave a speech at the opening ceremony. He said Jinggangshan Forum was initiated at 2014 and this year of 2018 had been the fifth year consecutively. The establishment of the Forum was to find solutions to consensus problems occurred during the process of concrete construction in China, to promote the communication and cooperation within the industry, to share both successful and unsuccessful experiences, to improve the general technical levels of the industry so that China could change its role as the high quantity concrete giant to high quality concrete giant. In five years, with the support from all over the industry, the Forum sticks to the principles of “Seeking for truth, down to earth and innovation”, has successfully undertaken its tasks to unite the industry, to promote the high quality development, to share the advanced technology in the research and to solve the problems occurred in the development of ready-mixed concrete. All of these actions have greatly improved the healthy development and promoted the technical level of the industry.

Mrs. Shi Haixia, the general secretary of CCPA ready-mixed concrete branch shared the opinion of Mr. Xu Yongmo, the Executive Chairman of CCPA on the utilization of industrial solid wastes. She said attention would be drawn by government and the whole society, only if the significance of co-processing and utilization of solid wastes was to be cognized in the aspects of ecological environment and human’s health protection. Under the current government system, problems could be solved only when we put co-processing and utilization into the legal frame of environmental protection. In another word, the problem of solid wastes was firstly the problems of environment, and utilization of recycled resources was put second.

In China, research on harmless disposal and utilization of solid wastes has started since the foundation of People’s Republic China. Various industries, especially building material industry are the main industry to utilization of recycled solid wastes. Despite that various industries had been developing technology to utilize the solid wastes, it was obvious that big amount of solid waste eventually entered into the building material industry, especially the cement and concrete industry. Therefore, it is our unshakable responsibility to reduce, co-process and utilize the solid waste.
