The full name of Guozigou Bridge is Guozigou Double Tower Double Cable Stayed Bridge with Steel Trusses. In the past, Guozigou was famous for its high mountains and dangerous road condition with various geologic hazards including snow storm, flood and landslides. The construction of Guozigou Bridge is a perfect solution to the transportation problem of Yili in Xinjiang area.
Gouzigou Bridge is 800 meters long, with 200 meters distance from bridge deck to valley bottom. The bridge stands across 360 meters distance, with two towers 209 meters and 2155 meters high respectively. The main structure of the bridge is contructed with steel truss structure, connected with high-strength bolts of tolerance less than 2 mm. The construction bridge costs about 2390 million RMB, approximately 3.4 million RMB per meter.
Guozigou bride is also the first cable stayed bridge with double towers and double cables in China. The construction team specifically designed new equipments such as lifting devices, and reassembled heavy components on site and used the mobile moulds for bridge approach for the first time in China. The whole bridge is over 20 thousand tons by its own weight.
Theoretically, Guozigou Bridge can accommodate over 670 trucks of 20 tons at the same time. Additionally, Guozigou, translated literally as “fruit valley” is a natural treasure of fruits and herbal medicines. It also produces high quality honeydew.
