The "National Concrete Design Competition" sponsored by CCPA has been successfully held for 11 consecutive sessions around this concept. It is hoped that the competition will stimulate the innovative thinking of the whole industry, find good design concepts and solutions with the wisdom and strength of all colleagues, promote concrete science and technology and the mastery of modern concrete science and technology by employees, enhance their ability in concrete design and promote the sustainable development of China's concrete industry.
As we all know, concrete is the largest material used in building sector worldwide today, and it is also one of the most important building structural materials. The performance of concrete material plays a fundamental and decisive role in the quality of buildings, and the design of concrete exert a significant impact on the quality, durability and construction of buildings. It is a necessary way to improve the quality of concrete engineering in China to strengthen the research on the structural performance and durability of lightweight, high-strength concrete, formulate the structural design and promote the wide application of it in construction projects.
Looking back at the previous competitions, all participating teams have performed wonderfully.
“Ninth session”
Theme: Lightweight and High Strength-Concrete mix proportion design based on concrete strength and density.
Its main purpose is: to obtain higher strength under the specified concrete density grade, the required concrete density grade is 1800±50kg/m3 (apparent density).
A total of 46 teams from all over the country participated in the competition, including 26 teams from enterprises and 20 teams from colleges and universities.
“Tenth session”
Theme: Lightweight and High Strength-Concrete mix proportion design based on concrete strength and density
Its main purpose is: under the premise of meeting the specified concrete strength, lower bulk density can be obtained. The concrete compressive strength required by this competition is not less than 70MPa (100×100×100mm cube test block)
A total of 58 teams from all over the country participated in the competition, including 30 teams from enterprises and 28 teams from universities.
“Eleventh session”
Theme: Lightweight and High Strength-Concrete mix proportion design based on concrete strength and density
Its main purpose is: to obtain higher strength under a certain density of concrete, the density of concrete required by this competition is not higher than 1400kg/m3 (bulk density).
23 teams from the enterprise group composed of concrete production, manufacturing and construction units, and 26 teams from the college group composed of professionals and students from universities and research institutes participated in the competition.
At present, the theme of the “12th National Concrete Design Competition of CWCG Cup" has been determined-Lightweight and high strength: concrete mix proportion design based on concrete strength and density.
Its main purpose is to obtain lower bulk density under a certain concrete strength. The compressive strength of concrete required by this competition is not less than 35 MPa, and the bulk density is not more than 1500 kg/m3.
